Nature at its best

As always it feels so refreshing to see a sun set, or to see the dew drops on the flower early in the morning, these little things are so normal, but have a huge hidden happiness. Man in his own ways want to destroy his own environment, he is not realizing that by doing so he is indirectly destroying himself. With the uncontrolled activities of human he is polluting the earth in number of ways. The soil or the land is being used for constructions and less of tress are grown, cutting of trees i.e. deforestation leads to less of rain fall and hence no water to harvest. Facing this problem the human with his great mind invented artificial rains, which was of little help but created a slow but steady problem to himself.

Polluting the environment has now become his normal day activities. People living in the rural areas wash their animals, bath, wash cloths and also dump the human waste (excreta) in the water bodies making them dirty. The chemical water from the factories and industries are dumped in the rivers and the sewage water from the toilets also joins the water line. These activities of polluting the nature cannot be stopped by the human, so nature had devised its own ways of cleaning the environment. The nature has its own cleansing agents which can take care of certain amount of pollution caused by the human activities. The river and the river bodies contain certain amount of micro organisms and algae which act as natural cleansing agents of water. When dirty water from bathing, washing clothes and containing human excretions is dumped into the river, the microorganisms in the river act on it and make it clean for re use. This water is not harmful to use. A natural resource like water should be used in a judicious way. The real environmental pollution is said to take place only when we put too much of undesirable pollutants into the environment which cannot be cleansed by the natural cleaning agent. In such cases the irreversible change in the environment takes place and the natural cleaning agent cannot restore the original balance.

For example there are two village A & B along the bank of river which are at considerable distance from each other, the village B being in the down stream direction. When the people of village A pollute the water, this polluted water starts flowing down the stream B. As the river water contains natural cleaning agents, they start to clean the water naturally. Since the pollution is not too much as the water has to travel a considerable distance to reach the village B by the time the water reaches the village B it is being completely cleaned. If suppose a new village C  has come up between two existing villages A and B and that a factory is also set up on the river bank, the water gets more dirtier and  the factory also dumps chemical waste which enhances the river pollution.

Hence the cleaning action of the micro organism cannot completely purify the polluted water as the river is polluted heavily. This creates the actual water pollution which event the natural cleansing agents cannot remove. Thus affecting the health of living organisms.
